You know the honeymoon stage of a relationship. The stage where every love song suddenly seems to make perfect sense to you. The stage where you suddenly have a newfound appreciation for flowers. Where nothing about your partner bothers you. Where all you want to do is be with your partner 24/7. That's stage. The stage you wished could last forever, but usually only lasts a few months. Usually.

That wasn’t the case for Jasmine and Ross though. They’d been in that stage for almost five years, and it showed no sign of going anyway. They were so in love. They were in the type of love you dream about. The type of love that you only see in movies. The type of love that you want so desperately, but know you’ll never have.

They were childhood best friends turned lovers. Friends who spent every waking hour together. Friends who did everything together. For years they were just friends. Through their childhood and adolescence, they didn’t even have crushes on each other. They were just friends, best friends.

Something changed when they became adults. Neither of them was aware of what that was, but they knew something had changed. Neither of them thought they had feelings for the other, but for some reason, they hated seeing the other in relationships. They were so oblivious to their love. Oblivious to what their love was going to blossom into. Everyone knew they were in love. Everyone expects them. There friend Maline had tried to play matchmaker for years. Until one day she snapped. She told Jasmine that she was in love with Ross. Just like that everything changed.Jasmine went over to confront Ross. He too admitted to being in love with her. Then everything in their lives suddenly fell into place. They felt complete. They were each other's other halves. They were soul mates.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Being a single mother and a successful businesswoman wasn’t the dream job Marissa had listed on her college application. However, thanks to her now ex-husband Riley leaving her high and dry. Alone to raise their daughter. It was the job she had. Marissa juggled taking her daughter to violin lesson with making sure everyone was doing there job properly like a boss. It may not have been the easiest job, but over the years Marissa had gotten used to it and kicked ass at it.

Don’t get me wrong. When Riley first left Marissa had struggled. She spent days in her bed crying herself to sleep. On the days that she wasn’t crying herself to sleep she was drinking herself to sleep. And her daughter Renee had ultimately paid the price for those few months that she was in despair. However, after that early stage of drowning in self-pity. She had come out swinging on the other side. Now she was thriving.

It wasn’t just her who was thriving. It was her daughter as well. Renee had just been a toddler when her father left. She had very little contact with him since then. However, she managed to cope with not having a father. Her mother and her best friend/lifelong companion Cosmo wouldn't let her ever be alone. Renee wasn’t the type of child who had many friends. She was shy and tended to keep to herself. That never bothered her though because she had music and Cosmo. Cosmo had always kept her company whenever she was feeling lonely. He was the best dog a girl could ask for. The violin, on the other hand, kept her alive. She ate, slept and breathed violin. You could catch her playing the violin at all hours of the day, and it was guaranteed that either Cosmo or her mom was watching her play.

Cosmos really saved the Joyce family. He came into their lives right when they needed him. Marissa connection with Cosmo wasn’t immediate, but Cosmos’s connection with Renee had been instant. Even though Marissa wasn’t fond of the idea of having a dog at first. She had decided to cave for her daughter, which had been the best decision of her life. Cosmo brought the spirit's up in the house. He had made Renee so happy that that had, in turn, made Marissa happy. On those nights where Marissa used to cry herself to sleep Cosmo was there. Right beside her licking her tears away. He hadn’t only become Renee’s best friend, but he had become Marias's best friend as well, and a permanent member of the family.

All her life the only thing Thumbelina ever wanted to be was normal. As a child, she would pray every night that she’d end up normal. That somehow the fairy gene in her family would skip a generation. It didn’t though. She knew that when she woke up at age 5 with a set of fairy wings and power she would never fully be able to understand. She was born with these powers. Yet they stayed dormant till her fifth birthday. On that day without even realizing it Thumbelina had gone from walking to flying. That’s when she knew. That’s when she knew for sure that she wasn’t normal. That instead of being a normal human, she was a fairy. A fairy with extraordinary powers. Powers that she couldn’t contain.

Thumbelina had made it known to everyone. That she didn’t want to become a fairy. Especially her parents. Who insisted that being a fairy was a gift. A gift she’d be lucky to revise. On her fifth birthday, they were delighted when they saw her flying in the yard. Evernight after that they’d whisper to her “ Thumbelina your going to change the world”. They whispered this with 100% certainty as if they knew some untold prophecy.  They told her this every night until they left.  When Thumbelina is was only 9 years old her parents left. On a quest to free fairies who were being held captive after having their powers discovered. They instead it was there fairly duty to save them and left Thumbelina. Promising to be gone for no more than a few days. They were gone a lot longer than a few days though. They had left on the quest, and never come back. For reason unknown to Thumbelina. For reasons unknown to anyone.

Ever since she’d been an orphan. She had no extended family to go live with. Her parents had no close friends to take her in. They were fairies. Fairies lived in isolation. Which left Thumbelina all by herself. More than that it meant she was on her own in the quest to figure out her powers. Her powers were strong. Stronger than most. Controlling her powers wasn’t an easy task. However, she had been able to get a grip on it. She’d done that alone, and ever since she’d done everything alone.Over the years she’d gotten pretty good at being alone.

Unlike her parents, Thumbelina hasn’t devoted her life to fulfilling her fairy destiny. She stayed as far as possible away from anything fairy related. She had learned to walk instead of fly, and she’d learned to control her powers. Over the years she’d also developed a method to hide her wings. To the outside world, she was just your normal human. What she had always wanted. However, even though she may have appeared normal. Deep down she wasn’t normal. They may not have known that. Like her parents said she was destined for greatness.
